Find your kind of ski
A practical starting point for matching your skis to the way you ride.
Start with terrain
For mostly groomed runs and early lessons, consider the Piste 76 ($399). For intermediate resort skiing on groomers and occasional softer snow, consider the Summit 88 ($549). For advanced soft-snow resort skiing, consider the Drift 104 ($699). All prices are demo USD per pair; bindings are separate.
Width and length
Waist width influences how a ski changes edges and supports you in soft snow. Length depends on height, weight, ability and preference. Visit a ski shop for a complete fit rather than relying only on a height chart.
A complete setup
Budget for boots, compatible bindings, professional mounting and release testing. Check helmet and goggle fit together. An in-person lesson usually does more for a beginner than a more demanding ski.
